Later in life, Nomethi, a wife to Solly, joined a Charismatic Church in South Africa. The husband was happy with such as that will make the wife go deeper in God.

As the closeness between the wife and the pastor began to increase, Nomethi related certain things to her pastor. In respect to that, the pastor invited the husband to Nomethi to the church for discussion. The pastor advised Solly to go and pay lobola (bride price) so that the woman becomes his full wife instead of sleeping and having “things” in common with the woman without paying anything on her head.

Solly admitted what the pastor said and decided to take a bold step though he did not have enough money for that. According to Solly, he had only R3 000 ($280.19) in his savings account and that will not be enough for the bride price. He decided to call his family and the elders and they went and met Nomethi’s family.
